LhNDT is thermosensitive. Ca2+ markedly improves the thermostability of LhNDT. The enzyme activity decreases sharply when no Ca2+ is added and is completely lost within 6 h at 35°C. Such inactivity is reversed significantly with the addition of Ca2+ at concentrations ranging from 5 mM to 20 mM, and 80 % of the initial activity could be maintained for at least 12 h at a concentration higher than 10 mM. Stability is most significantly enhanced in the presence of 15 mM Ca2+ (the specific concentration of Ca2+ is 0.106 mmol/mg). |

with the addition of 15 mM Ca2+, the thermostability of LhNDT is greatly promoted by 68 and 47 times at 30°C and 35°C, respectively. LhNDT retains approx. 40% activity after 1 h at 35°C |
