General Information

EC Number General Information Comment Organism
4.4.1.39 physiological function CpeY is involved in biosynthesis of red-colored protein phycoerythrin. Subunit CpeY alone, but not CpeZ, can ligate phycoerythrobilin chromophores to phycoerythrin subunit CpeA, but the yield of CpeA-phycoerythrobilin is lower than achieved with subunits CpeY and CpeZ together. CpeY/CpeZ attach phycoerythrobilin at Cys82 of CpeA Microchaete diplosiphon
