enzyme is involved in biosynthesis of staphyloferrin B. In vitro synthesized staphyloferrin B readily promotes the growth of iron-starved Staphylococcus aureus, via the ABC transporter SirABC. The SbnCEF synthetases and decarboxylase SbnH are necessary and sufficient to produce staphyloferrin B in vitro
