The amount of gamma-terpinene increased after jasmonate treatment. gamma-Terpinene has significant antibacterial activity against Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), but it does not show significant antifungal activity against Magnaporthe oryzae. The antibacterial activity of gamma-terpinene against Xoo is caused by damage to bacterial cell membranes.
