Three non-ATPase subunits, Rpn1, Rpn2 and Rpn13, and six AAA-ATPase subunits, Rpt1-6, which contain four helices at their C-termini, form the base that is attached to the CP alpha-ring, and other non-ATPase subunits form the lid.
