physiological function mice lacking the Pin1 gene form more megakaryocytes than wild type mice, and the proplatelet formation of megakaryocytes is poorer in Pin1-/- mice than in wild-type mice. Treatment of megakaryoblastic floating cell line Meg-01 with shRNA against Pin1 suppresses the proplatelet formation.
