Intrafascial retrograde axonal growth is equivalent in both control and chondroitinase treated conditions. Chondroitinase treatment causes a pronounced reduction in extrofacial retrograde axional growth. The decrease in axon egress from the nerve is coincident with an increase in antegrade regeneration and improved recovery of motor function Rattus norvegicus
