Mus musculus older mice show a significant increase in the expression and activity of the enzyme as compared to younger ones. Short-term fasting of 24 h increases the expression and activity of the enzyme in the liver of both young (20%) and old (19%) mice which are reversed upon 24 h of re-feeding them up
