physiological function SAP9 gene is required for the formation filaments in serum hyphal-inducing conditions. For the SAP deletion mutant, the proportion of cell penetration into oral epithelial cells during infection is significantly smaller compared to the wild type strain. The epithelial cell damage is significantly reduced in SAP9 mutant strains. In addition, the expression level of EFG1 is downregulated by approximately 40% in a SAP9 deletion mutant Candida albicans
