xylanase XynGR40 and its complex with xylobiose at 2.15 and 2.50 A resolution. The enzyme foldsinto a typical GH10 (beta/alpha)8 TIM-barrel, with residues E132 and E243 serving as the catalytic residues. The catalytic residue E132 provides two hydrogen bonds to the +1 sugar and Y181 forms stacking interaction with the +2 sugar. The -3 sugar hangs loosely at the open end of the cleft uncultured microorganism
