General Information

General Information Comment Organism
physiological function the enzyme may contribute to the accumulation of triacylglycerols in Haematococcus pluvialis at the early stage under high light stress (0.195 mM m-2 s-1). Overexpression of the enzyme in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii bkt5, an engineering strain capable of producing free astaxanthin, enhances the production of oils and astaxanthin. The overexpression of the enzyme restores the triacylglycerol and wax ester biosyntheses in neutral lipid-deficient yeast mutant Saccharomyces cerevisiae H1246 by extra feeding with appropriate fatty alcohol and fatty acid species Haematococcus lacustris
