acetyl-CoA + L-methionine pitax is an acetyltransferase and weakly catalyses the acetylation of l-methionine and l-methionine sulfoxide. Pitax belongs to the GCN5-related N-acetyltransferase family and contains all four sequence motifs conserved among family members.
