Recombinant XsSAD expression in and partial complementation of Arabidopsis thaliana ssi2 mutant, via Agrobacterium strain GV3101 transformation method,control of 35S promoter partially restors the morphological phenotype and effectively increases the 18:1D9 level. The levels of other unsaturated fatty acids synthesized with 18:1D9 as the substrate also increase to some degree Xanthoceras sorbifolium
