This enzyme, characterized from the bacterium Paracoccus wurundjeri strain Merri, participates in a sulfofucose degradation pathway. Activity with NADP+ is 28% of that with NAD+. cf. EC 1.1.1.390, sulfoquinovose 1-dehydrogenase.
