porcine brain tubulin + H2O MALDI-mass spectrum of the carboxy-terminal peptides released by subtilisin treatment. Polyglutamylated peptides from the beta subunit and from both the tyrosinated and detyrosinated forms of the alpha subunit are observed. The fragments removed by subtilisin are in the range of 1.6 kDa.
