physiological function the exogenous manganese superoxide dismutase is able to modify the intracellular level of reactive oxygen species by eliminating superoxide anion and producing hydrogen peroxide. The cell viability of the two tumoral cell lines, porcine aortic endothelial cells and B16F0 mouse melanoma cells, exposed to the enzyme, is not significantly affected but the cell multiplication is arrested.
